Hello,
I hope you can help me. I have tried to export my saved locations and all I get is a .gz text file which I am not sure what to do with.
Any suggestions, much appreciated.

Hi
Welcome to the site....
Many users have asked for the facility to back up their MyPlaces to a PC
The Tomtom MyDrive Web Route planner....
i.e... the Tomtom Cloud
Here... https://mydrive.tomtom.com
The MyDrive Route planner allows you to download your data from the Tomtom Cloud
The file looks like unusable Gobbledegook, but the MyPlaces can be found in the file

Posted a link to a excellent Tomtom MyPlaces to .Ov2 POI file converter tool
https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=https://chbworld.net/software/tomtompoi.html&prev=search
There's a Mac & PC version ....
Method....
Download and install TomtomPOI.exe from the above link
Note... I have Virus checked the file with Avast Anti Virus all OK
Run TomtomPOI
1st Click on Open...
A New Filer Window opens
Find & Select the (Your username goes here)_MyDrive.json.gz file
Saved from the Tomtom MyDrive Web Route planner
Click on the 'Open' Box
2nd Click on Copy
3rd Click on Yes
4th Click on Yes
5th Click on Save
Name the .Ov2 file & Save to the PC Desktop
If you open the .Ov2 File with a POI editor you will find the individual POI Names and the Coordinate of the POI
Copy and past the required POI Coordinate into Google Maps....

Thank you for the reply. I followed the link and tried to download the TomTomPOI app but Google Translate kept kicking in saying it could not translate the page?
Even if I could download it, I think my technical skills would not allow me to do the conversion.
I have used TomTom's for 10-12 years but I always found the software very poor. I like to support EU companies but on this occasion I give up. I will manually capture my 80+ POI's and manually add them to my new car with it's Google maps and then wipe and sell my TomTom.0 -
