Using a TomTom Via 1525M 5" TouchScreen. Our older TomTom would let us input a new "Favorite" (I think they changed the name to something annoying like "My Places" ??) and tell it "where I am, right now". This was highly useful for when the street address was not recognized or the TomTom thought it was somewhere other than where we wanted to be taken. Or when we didn't *know* the closest address and weren't near a cross street.
Has this capability been removed? I can't find a way to store a new named location without typing in an address as if I were inputting a destination. I want it to save "where I am, right now" as the location.

Saving your Current position as a MyPlace
Tapping the Direction of travel pointer (Above the + & - signs)
Toggles the map view between the Driving & Planning views
If you are using the North-up overview planning Map
The direction of travel pointer... is flatter more squat
If you want to save your present location to 'MyPlaces'....
(1)... Switch to the North-up overview planning Map
Long Tap on the Chevron Location cursor (Tap and hold for + 1 second) a Quick menu opens... Tap the 3Dot Icon Tap 'Add to MyPlaces'
(2)... Switch to the North-up overview planning Map
Long Tap anywhere on the screen (Tap and hold for + 1 second) a Quick menu opens... Tap the 3Dot Icon Tap 'Add to MyPlaces'
Note... Long and short taps give different menu option
For example... Short Tap of the screen
(1)... With the screen displaying Driving View Map... Tap in the Arrowhead Location cursor --> Tap Mark Location
Tap 4Dot (.... Menu) --> Myplaces... Scroll down to Mark Locations --> Tap on the required Marked location --> Tap Add to MyPlaces --> Rename the location as required
For example... Long Tap of the screen
(2)...With the screen displaying the North-up Overview Planning Map
Pinch Zoom the Planning Map to Max --> Tap in the Arrowhead Location cursor --> Tap Mark Location
Tap 4Dot (.... Menu) --> Myplaces... Scroll down to Mark Locations --> Tap on the required Marked location --> Tap Add to MyPlaces --> Rename the location as required

Think the following is what you do.
Tap your Current position Chevron. ( Black marker appears and a sub menu)
Tap Mark Location
Tap Menu
Tap My Places.
Scroll Down and Tap Marked Locations ( at the end of you Favourites list)
Tap the time the Location was Marked
Tap Add to My Places and Name as required.
The position will disappear from the Mark Location List and appear in your My Places list .
