Smart Media Connect can't see my SD card

I've plugged my SD card into my laptop and Explorer can see and read the card. I've downloaded Smart Media Connect, however, it says "please connect your device" and just hangs - even if I remove and reinsert the SD card it does not see the card/device.

Any advice please

    I re-installed, updated SDHC drivers etc and now the drive is read by Tom Tom Smart media connect...... I did not get much further! I guess the message below is related to the non-functioning Tom Tom servers???

    it's the constant advice on here regarding the smart system....

    BUT IT DOESN'T WORK!!!!

    And TomTom are doing NOTHING about fixing this problem.
