What with the new radio signals that are coming ?

For the traffic information, our GPS uses the radio signal. Will that be a problem in the future, or is that included allready in the new models when I buy one ? I am looking for a new model... Ours is starting to fail

    radio signals for traffic using a tmc receiver? the recent models connect to a phone internet and give traffic info
