Hi, I have a built in Navigation in my Mazda CX 5. When I try to connect my ad card to my computer (Mac) and into Tom Tom home, the SD card gives an error and does not read. The message says “there are error in your memory card that cannot be fixed by Home” ..what does this mean ? Thx

    Hi @Puneet

Welcome to the community! It might be an issue with the files on the memory card getting corrupted.
Which is the current map installed?
We might have to format and restore the contents.

    Regards, Vikram

Thanks Vikram for the response. This is my first time in the community.

I have a USA Canada map and it runs well on the inbuilt navigation system in my vehicle. But throws an error when I connect it to my Mac onto TomTom home.

The error screen shot is attached.

    Thx

I have the exact same problem as Puneet. Same map installed.

Everything works fine in the car GPS unit. Nothing has been updated in a while, ever since the old TomTomHOME.app was no longer supported by newer Mac OS. I found that there is a new app that now runs on the latest Mac OS, but after installing it, it displays this error.

Still having the same error message in TomTom HOME on my Mac laptop despite trying multiple solutions.

Customer service had me remove the loopdir folder and have the nav unit replace it, which did not fix the problem. They also had me erase the card and copy back the map, which did not fix the problem. They now claim that I need to purchase a new SD Card.

However, my laptop accesses the card just fine. I am able to erase it and reload the map, voices, and everything else from my laptop with no issues whatsoever. The card still works great in my Mazda nav unit. The nav unit has not problems accessing the card.

The only thing that can't access the SD Card is the TomTom HOME software.

Also, on the website, when I try to purchase a new map, and it asks me to enter the first 2 characters of the serial number, the website says that the USA_Canada map is not compatible with my device.

It's not like I can change my nav device, since it is built into my Mazda CX-5. What is going on with TomTom? Are they about to go out of business?

    Hi All

After reviewing the currently open tickets I could not find something specific to the error mentioned above.
My suggestion would be to contact our customer service team and report this problem so the concerned team can start investigating.

    Regards, Vikram

I'm having exactly the same problem and getting exactly the same error on Renault Carminat Navigation system.
MacOs Big Sur loaded, have followed all instructions re java and the App is finally opening after 5 months waiting for a fix (yes it apparently happened in late Jan but Tom Tom never advised me).

Is anyone aware of a solution for this?

I am having the exact same issue here with a NVA-SD8110 Live system inside Mazda MX-5 NC. Tried everything, no dice. Would love to hear an update on this.

Ik have found a solution that is working for me. I have a Renault Carminat (2011) and I use a macintosh (Catalina). The problem was in de 'loopdir' directory. This was already mentioned by de Tomtom website. But de solution was NOT deleting this directory and putting te memory card back in the Carminat console. What worked for me was manually replacing this directory from the backup on my computer (made earlier with the Tomtom Home app). After that the Tomtom Home app recognised the SD card and I was able to update everything. But after inserting the SD card in my Carminat console the loopdir directory was updated again and after that the SD card could only be recognised by de Tomtom Home app after I replaced the loopdir directory on the SD card manually with the backup from my computer.

Exactly the same problem for me. Renault Carminat, Mac Catalina. Remove 'loopdir', put in car, 'loopdir' replaced, Home still does not recognise card. Tom Tom support non existant, absolutely rubbish company. 2 weeks now.

    SOLUTION
Replace manually de loopdir directory from the USB memory card with the loopdir directory from the BACKUP on your Macintosh (I hope you have a backup!).

You must do that every time the memory card has been in the Carminat console in your car (I suppose the Carminat console replaces the file in the loopdir in a way the Macointosh version of the TOMTOM Home app cannot read)

I am having the same problem with tom-tom home not recognising sd drive but mine is a brand new card. Im trying to install maps onto it that I've already purchased.
no hint of said maps that I've paid for on tom-tom home. Ive already followed the instructions to initialise the card. the only thing that came from this was the loop folder appear on the drive. computer recognised card but tom-tom doesn't.
how can I download the map without tomtom home and have it install correctly on the sd card

I have the exact same problem.

    MacBook Pro / macOS 11.6
    TomTom HOME 2.22.0.29

The solution from TomTOM support: use another computer or a new SD card.

I bought a new SD card (max 8GB). No solution.

I can only make do with my daughter's computer (Windows 10)

I deleted the loopdir as directed. Now the sd card is no longer recognized by TomTom. Is there a download of the file so I can restore it?

@Itsmeagain after deleting - insert card into the car!!! And then use option in SatNav to remove SD card. SatNav will create new file.
Then you will be able to use it in the application

thank you. My car does not recognize the sd card and does nothing to it. I added the loopdir file back onto the card and now TomTom home recognizes it again. TomTom home says the card is updated. My car still does not recognize it.

the loopdir file must be created by the GPS or take the loopdir file from an old backup

Would work for me except that my new Mac no longer gives me the option to format cards in FAT32 ...
