My drive cannot connect to my device VIA52

I have bought the latest map of UK today ( Order #410767546). After the order the system gave a link to download the map to my windows computer. It then downloaded a Tom Tom Home V2.1 to my computer and said my device is not connected. My device is VIA52. I tried all options and it still shows no device connected. Previously in my computer I have a my drive connect. This my drive connect doesn't show that I have ordered a map. So this means I can't install the map or speed cameras.

As this is bit of a useless purchase can I have the refund of this map please?

    The Via 52 is a NAV4 device and updates using MyDrive Connect....

    Important....
    NEVER have a Tomtom device connected to your PC when....
    (1)... Installing MyDrive Connect (Including Uninstalling & Reinstalling MyDrive Connect)
    (2)... Updating the MyDrive Connect program

    Having your device connected can have an adverse effect on the USB Driver install….
