Hi, this gps had London map pre-installed and I was trying to install USA map but my laptop doesn't want to recognize the device, what should I do at this point? Is There any phone number, email address for the tomtom to contact them? The crisis situation is going forever and they don't want to talk to the customers out there, its a big company but customer service isn't pleasant. I tried every possible way to connect to my laptop based on the all forums suggestion and other articles that are available online but none of them worked. I tried with different laptops also but didn't work out. And I am stuck with London maps, I need to install USA map and this is the worst experience ever. I don't know if anyone even response to this question or not.

    Hi YamFazman, it didn't help but thanks.

    I don't think people will ever buy tomtom gps anymore after this kind of customer service. Spending $300 u.s dollar on a gps device and the company doesn't take any responsibility, doesn't make any sense. Very disappointed.

    Hi
    @Masum
    Tomtom NAV4 GO 510/510 User Guide....
    Here... https://help.tomtom.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360014295380-GO-500-GO-510-User-Manual
    Tomtom Video....

    There are 2 GO 510 Models....
    The really early NAV2 device which is End of life
    Or
    The much later NAV4 devices.... The NAV4 GO 510 devices usually have world Maps available for download....

    The device Must have at least one map installed before the device will start....
    If you have London as your default screen you must have the UK&ROI Map, the Europe Map or one of the smaller Europe map cuts that include the UK....
    Check... Tap 4Dot (.... Menu) --> Setting --> Maps....
    Check... Tap 4Dot (.... Menu) --> Setting --> System --> About... Scroll down to Free space... See if there is enough free space to install the USA Map ???
    You may need to install a branded Class 10 Micro SDHC Memory card 16GB or (32GB Max Size)

    If your device is showing a small Satellite Dish at the top of the Traffic Bar your device has not synced with the GPS Satellites and their Clocks (Are you sat indoors by your PC)

    Have you tried a Soft/Drum roll restart on the device ??? This restarts the device's Operating System afresh

    RESETTING YOUR NAVIGATION DEVICE
    https://help.tomtom.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360013957499-Resetting-your-navigation-device
    Charge the device for at least 2Hrs….
    (Preferably using something like a Smartphone Charger using the Tomtom USB lead)
    OR have the device plugged into a power supply while the device is restarting
    Press and hold the on/off button until you hear a drum-roll sound then release the on/off button.
    You won’t lose anything; it’s just like rebooting your PC
    I use a Soft/drum-roll start after any upgrade large or small.
    It’s also useful to keep in mind for sorting out most minor niggles....

    If possible, for the first Satellite fix, go outside with a clear view of the Sky

    Hi YamFazman,

    Thanks for your all information. After you pointed out the old two models, I believe I have this model: Tomtom Go 510.

    https://www.tomtom.com/en_za/drive/car/products/go-510-europe/

    I tried resetting, didn't help and also tried all kinds of youtube videos related to trouble shooting, still my laptop doesn't want to recognize it.

    I checked the version: 15.600.2176699.311(0). I have 617 MB free space.

    Its not about the space, mydriveconnect needs to connect my device first, in this case it doesn't. Thats my issue.

    Thanks in advance.
