Tried searching but keep coming back to same place !
Right now I'm looking to source micro USB connector to repair a Via 52 , or perhaps a UK based repair service to do this.
Any experience/suggestions ?

    Hi @daveArgos.

As TomTom we can just offer you a regular repair, but maybe one user will have some other options.

    regards,

    Jim

Thanks Jim, Yes I guess TomTom could but at a nice price !
I have many years of repairs experience mainly in mobile phones but have done various others subject to availability of spare parts and I'm struggling to find this part so I was hoping that some other may have experienced this and found a supplier.
Just a one-off at the moment but I can sense a fair few coming through in time.
    Thanks again.

    Hi there DaveArgos -

It appears TomTomrepairteam.co.uk (currently trading as
Satnav Specialist Ltd and actively registered at Companies House since 06/14) can offer a good service and price for a Micro USB socket charging port repair for the TomTom Via 52 with very good customer feedback reviews.
    Hope this helps. :)

yes thank you, saw their web page yesterday and they have replied to say send it in for a quote. I don't want to send it in just to find out they haven't got the right part so I'll be phoning to see if they have the right part - would rather buy a quantity of the socket though.

that was useful, the pic of the USB socket looks identical to the one on the 52 - you wouldn't believe how many different sockets that look the same from a user point of view but are so different on the inside. At least gives me another variant to try and locate the parts.
