I think the TomTom Rider 420 was originally sold with Lifetime Maps and Traffic and if that is correct then that will continue for the new owner as Maps and Updates etc are tied to the units serial number. When you get the device you will need to do a factory reset on the unit, if it has not been done by the original owner, this deletes the old owners details and you can then input your own TT account details etc .
