When the GO620 is connected directly to the internet you should be able to:
Tap Menu
Tap Settings
Tap Maps
Tap Add a Map.
You should get a list of the Tomtom maps available to you for countries and regions world-wide.
You do not need the unit to be connected to a PC unless you only have a wired circuit, maybe for health reasons, or the Wifi signal is slowish. In that case open My Drive Connect on your PC then connect the GO620. When you see the page saying "do it the easy way" then follow the steps detailed above using the menu options on the GO620.

@honestrockey: I checked and the Map Update Service is active on your device. So what @DougLap said should solve your problem ;-)
