Using the TomTom Go App via CarPlay on my Honda Africa Twin - Loading MyDrive Routes

Hi, I would like to be able to create routes on MyDrive and transfer them to my TomTom Go App which I can then see on my Bike's Carplay screen.
Is that still not possible? If not, when will it be possible? If it is possible, how do I do it?
I will subscribe to the full TomTom Go app as soon as I know this works.

Many thanks.
Steve

    Hi Doug,

many thanks for your prompt reply.

That's disappointing. I have yet to find a navigation App that allows for route planning and also connects to CarPlay.

The future for bike navigation, like my Africa Twin today, is with CarPlay and mobile navigation Apps. The sales of standalone hardware navigation devices will dwindle, and you would have thought that TomTom would be ahead of the game. Gamin have nothing either - and together with TomTom, they are the leaders in the field of motorcyle navigation.

This means that TomTom is not currently an option for me. I'll keep track on the TomTom site, and hope a solution becomes available soon.

    Best regards,
    Steve

    Hi Steve
I'm too waiting for this implementation so routes planned can be synced and used with Apple CarPlay. Like you I think this is a vital feature. Until this happens you could try Sygic App. I believe Sygic planner can send a route to your phone app and I know from past experience that routes can be saved in the app. The planner isn't great the last time I looked but its worth a look. Sygic will work with CarPlay but there is a cost.

    Hi,
I’ve been looking around and Calimoto have a great route planing App and are working on a CarPlay solution. They have the OK from Apple for this. I think they may be the first with a solution. I took a yearly subscription for 39€ and you can download all maps and navigate your routes offline. You can make route on your PC and they are automatically in the App as well. It even generates twisty routes for you. Worth a look.
MyDrive with the TomTom Go App will need to be good to compete with Calimoto.
    Cheers,
    Steve

    Hi Steve
Glad you found a solution. I think TomTom need to get their app sorted before others get there before them. With powerful phones available now it makes perfect sense to use them for navigation and planning routes. I see BMW Motorrad have a connectivity app that connects to their latest TFT display bikes for navigation and much more. Watch out TomTom !
