I was having problems updating my Tomtom device yesterday and I received a phone call from someone claiming to be from TomTom and offering assistance. He was able to take over my computer and was directing me to different areas in order to update the device. It 's now been suggested that this may not be TomTom support and that I may have been scammed. Is this a legitimate way of TomTom dealing with customers

Hi @jean494
You have definitely been on to a scam site as Tomtom do not have Phone support with so many working from home and also do not connect to Users PC's but provide advice on what the user should try themselves on the their PC's.
Can you provide details here of the Website that you were using and any other details you have so that Tomtom can look into it in the meantime do some checking of your PC as they have been into it.
Really sorry to hear that you have had this issue.

Hi Douglap ......... During my attempt to do the update I received a phone call from Sam at TomTom and the attempt to get into my computer was made. When I had closed the site and shut the computer down I had an email from (Ryan TomTom support) Tel no 0121 3187300 and a request to visit (www.fastsupport.gotoassist.com 379200372).
Do hope this information is helpful.....I am pleased to say that I have run a scan and my computer is clean. Phew!!
