How do I link my new TomTom Go Premium to my account?

I just bought a TomTom Go Premium and want to link it to the account I already have for my old Via 130. I can't find anything about this in the user manual. I understand that a GO Premium with built-in WiFi no longer needs to be connected to the PC. So my question is how do I proceed now? The GO Premium has not yet been switched on. Which steps in which order should I take ???

Hi @Zoeker1
When you start the unit you will be asked to go through a process to set your unit up.
As well as asking you to input Language, Pairing via Bluetooth and Wifi you will also be asked to add you Tomtom Account. When you do that the unit will link to the account when you turn it on and sync to any data there.

Hi Doug, thank you very much for the advice! With your tips, the new GO Premium is now neatly linked in my account.
Another question that I do not know if I can ask here / on this topic. I have no experience with the forum. My question is: where / to whom can I report that I cannot enter my home address in the new GO? If I want to enter the address, the street name and city name are accepted but not the house number. I can only enter the house number of 3 houses further down the street, but not our own house number. What to do to fix this?

Hi @Koekerk
The only way to add the full address information to the maps would be for you to use the Tomtom Mapshare website to provide the information to Tomtom. I am not sure if this works but in Holland you have Postcodes. What happens if you input the Postcode followed or proceeded by the house number.
Are you aware of the Mapcode App for your Phone or the Mapcode website. Using the Phone App you can input an address , Long/Lat or mapcode to find a position on a map. If you put the Map in Hybrid mode in the App it is like Google Erath and you can see single buildings etc. A Mapcode can identify a Parking Space in a car park so you can move th cursor around on the map and get a Mapcode for the entrance to your property. Once you have the Mapcode you can enter that like a Postcode in Search and the unit will direct you to that exact point. The App works worldwide so wen you are seeking a map code for outside your country you need to add a country code at the beginning. ie type GB DX.FX in search and it should take you to the middle gate at the front of Buckingham Palace, London.
You can copy and paste the mapcode into the My Drive App and then send it to your Premium.

Hi
@Zoeker1
Welcome to the site....
I use a nearby location... NOT my actual location....
I would not set a precise Home Location... If the device gets stolen, you wouldn't want to guide a thief directly to your front door

Hi @Zoeker1
Tap Menu/My Places
There tap on Home Location and then select "Remove Location"
Then go again to /Menu/My Places and tap on "add home".
Now do not enter an adress but scroll the map to your Home.
Tap and hold for 3 seconds on the street near your home. Then a popup appears where you can set your home without having to enter an address.
(sorry for the German screenshot)

Hi Doug and Lochfrass,
Thank you both for the directions. Lochfrass tips was the quickest way to enter my exact home address as a location in my GO. So this is fixed !!
I will keep Doug's tips for later if I have problems with other locations for which the correct address cannot be entered.
I will also inform TomTom about the problem with the house number via the Mapshare website.
Thank you both very much! 👍👍
