I bought my wife a Tom Tom about 3 years ago that is un-useable as it will not accept a charge by several means. It does turn on briefly to show an empty battery but then switches off. It has not been used for about 6 months. This could be due to the plug or the battery. The model # seems to be 4PL50 or 4PL 5001.02 Before buying a new battery are there any other options we should consider. Iain Chisholm

    Hi @IainChisholm

A prolonged fall battery is likely to be the issue so unless you can resurrect it by charging it using an iPhone or similar mains plug that will take the USB end of the TT units charging cable. This will give it a stronger charge so might if you are lucky sort it for a while.
