TomTom GO Essential - no voice instructions

I purchased the TomTom Go Essential a couple of weeks ago and yesterday I had no voice instructions. The voice told me when I would get to my destination but that was it. The display works fine but there are no voice directions. I have checked volume and it is fine. Has anyone else had this ?

Thank you. Voice instructions was actually turned off (not by me!). All working fine now.1

Unfortunately I again had no voice instructions or alerts on my way home yesterday. I have checked and both sound and voice instructions are turned on. It’s just under a month old so I’m thinking to return it for a replacement unless I’m missing something ?0

Have you tried a Soft/Drum roll restart on the device ??? This restarts the devices Operating System afresh

Charge the device for at least 2Hrs….
(Preferably using something like a Smartphone Charger using the Tomtom USB lead)
OR have the device plugged into a power supply while the device is restarting
Press and hold the on/off button until you hear a drum-roll sound then release the on/off button.
You won’t lose anything; it’s just like rebooting your PC
I use a Soft/drum-roll start after any upgrade large or small.
It’s also useful to keep in mind for sorting out most minor niggles....
