Hi,
A while back I purchased a map of S.E. Asia and I want to add it to a new TomTom device.(Go Essential).
The new device has a 16GB SD Card so there's ample space.
I just need to know how `I go about adding this map to my new TomTom?
Thanks in advance. :-)

    Hi Doug,
Alas, yes it was installed on my old Via 130.
Thank you for the (disappointing) info ;-)
    Cheers

I must say that being unable to add a purchased map onto my new device seems a tad unfair.
What about de-registering my old defunct Via 130? Would that allow me to load the new map?

    Hi @T-squared

Afraid not. If you have your map on the extra memory card of one unit you can't just insert the card into another unit and get the benefit of he map. If you think about it when you have finished needing a map you might try to sell it to someone else to use on their unit.

As part of a TT units start process is the need for a map to be available and recognised that it is a map the unit was supplied with or purchased for.
