Favorites and Home locations are lost. Why?

Performed a map update, and now my favorites and my Home locations are lost. My 'mapsettings.cfg' file resets to a date of 9/1/2001, and is blank. How can that happen?

Hi @Norm397

The 'mapsettings.cfg' hold the data for your stored favorites and home locations. If it's blank then I am afraid that data is lost.
Is recommended to back up that file before doing a map update.
Do you have another stored copy of it on the computer?
