Try the following.
Fully charge the unit for 2 hours or attach it to a fully charged power bank.
When ready turn the unit on and when it is ready to use press and hold the On/Off button in for about 20 seconds plus until you hear the drumroll sound. Then let the button go and the unit will restart. This is a soft reset.
Now go outside well away from buildings, trees etc so that you have a clear view of the sky all around. Now create a route and then place the unit down and leave it with a little clear view of the sky for 30 minutes plus. Once it finds a Sat it should find the others necessary to work normally. Once it has made this complete connection it should connect much quicker in future. Should you be offered and Quicksat updates make sure you download them to the unit as they contain Sat location info for the unit.
