how to get the British pound sign

Both of my tomtoms have the British uk keyboards but ehen i try to add £ the British pound sign to a name of my places i can only see the usa sign $ listed to select

Checked settings in 6200 and premium x and everything is set to british . I tried select Ireland then back to uk still no british currency simbol.
