I see there is a slot for a memory card. I inserted one which device formatted but would not recognise. The 2nd did not get format request but also not recognised. Are there specific cards you have to use for this device
The cards should be Micro SD Class 10 memory cards maximum 32 gb. I recommend that you use 16gb or 32gb Sandisk, Samsung or a similar major make as some of the lesser known makes have been known to have issues with TT units.

Here's some hard-learned information on adding a 16 Gb Micro SD card:
1) I used Win Explorer, and found it must be formatted with FAT32, not an alternate like NTFS, ex-fat, etc.
2) you must not use "Quick Format"; uncheck the tick mark in the box
3) set the"Allocation Unit SIze" to 4096. My Win Explorer defaulted to 8192, which didn't work.
4) it may take the better part of an hour to format, just let it cook.
4) After you install it, the TomTom may reformat the card again (won't take long), but at least it now has a format foothold, and it should work.
Good Luck,
Uncle Al

Many thanks. I will give the Sandisk option a try.It is a stand in satnav for when I go out in my 3 wheeled pertrol Indian Tuk Tuk.
