Tom Tom Via 130 Europe Start-Up Failure After Map Update:

Hey guys, I wonder if I could get some advice.

I recently purchased a complete Europe map update for my very faithful but somewhat outdated TomTom Via 130. But after I performed the update as directed by TomTom, the device now seems to have difficulty fully booting itself up and coming on. Most often, when i press the power button, the device begins the start-up sequence but then stops, then proceeds to begin the start-up sequence again, and the device will do this repeatedly for approx 5 - 10 minutes and sometimes longer. Eventually the device fully boots itself up and I am then able to begin navigation. But even then, on occasions the device has unexpectedly switched its self off and begin the start-up sequence once again.

If anyone has a fix in mind I would greatly appreciate any help provided to get 'Old Faithful' working as before.

    How much free Memory have you got on the unit. If it is very little could be the cause as it uses free space on the internal memory for operating purposes.
