Transferring Routes

I have an older Macbook pro with El Capitan. Maps are updated. Canada & Alaska Version v10.50. 400 RIDER version 18.2030026.311 GPX files and routes will not sync / transfer to the 400 . SPACE is available but when I try to transfer POI files nothing is listed as an Ov2 File. Any suggestions ?
After changing my map options on the 400 I was able to download GPX routes to mydrive but not to the 400.Getting close, Done a lot of reading.... any help would be appreciated.
What am I missing. I'm guessing it's the outdated operating system on the Mac ?

Why would I have to sign into bluetooth on my phone if I am already hooked up to the wifi through the computer and cable ?
I understand the use for on the go application, traffic, weather updates etc.
Not interested in using up any more data thanI need to.

I will admit I am somewhere between a novice / beginner on this stuff but slowly learning.
    Again your help is appreciated.
