no phone contact available to UK customers and I cant find an email address on the TomTom website. Tried BONGO but he/she just says no live chat available.

There is no longer phone support for TT Products. You need to contact them via email or chat during business hours using the Contact Us link at the bottom of each page.
Did you contact the customer service already?
I asked our 2nd Line Team to quickly review your devices logs to see if there is some problem from the software perspective.
They confirmed that the device does not have the latest firmware and Quick GPS Fix installed.
Jobs have been created in the backend to push these updates through MyDrive Connect.
Please clear the cache in MyDrive Connect first and connect the device. The jobs will get processed and the device might reboot.

If you log into the page the link takes you to if you then click on the Support button bottom Right and input a question what happens?

- klick https://help.tomtom.com/hc/sv and acept cookies from that side
- Then log in the Side with your tomtom Account
- click on the bubble "Support" and write chat
- Now press "enter on the keybord"
- at last klick on "Gert in touch"
