Hi there MJH48 -
The GO PREMIUM RANGE has a quoted battery run time alone of about 1 hour not being connected to the vehicle power supply, so I would only recommend placing the unit into the sleep/standby time for a very short period of time (10/20 mins if you are staying in the vehicle for a faster device start up) as the internal circuitry could drain the battery within a few hours even though the screen is off.
I would also advise to keep the battery fully charged even when not using for longer periods of time as discharged batteries cause irreparable damage.
Hope this helps.

The Go Premium battery lasts for more than a few hours.
I kept it asleep overnight and in the morning it was okay.
It would be good to know how long it can sleep for days or hours
