No live traffic connection using mobile data

Hi
I purchased this app in April and could not connect to the live services using my phones mobile data. It only works when I enable a vpn to run in the background. I've installed the new update and was hoping that this issue was resolved, unfortunately not, tbh I'm very disappointed with the lack of response from TomTom,
Can someone please advise?
I have a modern smartphone Huawei mate Pro 10
