Device not recognised by computer

I cannot update my TomTom25. It used to be linked to my home computer, but when I tried updating it a few wees ago there was a warning message saying there was some kind of problem with updates. I have now tried again, but the computer does not seem to recognise the device. It is not shown in my computer's device manager. I have reinstalled My Drive Connect, and have followed the instructions in various videos that I was directed to follow, 2 or 3 times. This resulted in the message that I should contact cutomer support, but i cannot even find an email for them.
Completely at my wits end,. Can anyone offer any advice or at least tell me how to get through to customer support?
