Had the device a couple weeks and the 'traffic' symbol has a cross beside it and with 'Service Unavailable'. It's never given an alternative route to avoid jams.

I have asked the team to make some changes in the back end.
Could you just do a soft reset and login on the device using your TomTom account credentials?

Hi Vikram, I've just done that, but the traffic still shows as 'service unavailable'.
Reinstalled mydrive, reconnected to my phone, no connection.
Could you help me out?

I see there are two RIDER devices linked to your account. Do you have the same problem on both the models?
To troubleshoot I would recommend that you try a factory reset. Pair the phone and log in to TomTom services.
Main menu- Settings- System- Reset device
