NO MAP AVAILABLE NOTIFICATION ERROR

Despite using my navigation device successfully several times since new, I started to receive the following message on startup:
"No Map Available. You need to add at least one map before you can use your device."
The Europe map is already loaded and has been used successfully.
When I try to add another map, whichever map I try, I get the message:
"Oops. Something went wrong. Please try again."
I have tried resolving the problem via My Drive Connect, but whatever I try to do I get the same message every time:
"There was a problem with the request and the action could not be completed."
My TomTom is currently no use to me whatsoever. What can I do?
