Favorites / POI (ov2 file) not synchronized with TomTom Go Premium X / My Drive — TomTom Community

Favorites / POI (ov2 file) not synchronized with TomTom Go Premium X / My Drive

RobaixRobaix Posts: 6 [Apprentice Seeker]
I tried all what I read in internet. I googled but no solution until now.

On the PC: I imported the ov2 file in Mydrive , now it is showing under "File PDI" (why PDI and not POI?): Favorites.ov2.

The ov2 file was exported onto the PC from an older TomTom (TomTom Start) through TomTom Home application.

On the device (TomTom Go Premium X) they are not showing up and they are not searchable.

All other (updates etc.) are correctly synchronized (via WiFi).

Any idea how to solve the issue?

Are you logged into 'MyDrive' on the Go Premium X ???
Tap 4Dot (.... menu) --> Settings --> MyDrive... Login with your Tomtom Account Email & Password

If the POI Categories are transferred from an older Tomtom device or maybe a Website offering older POI Categories... Some POI files that worked on the older Tomtom models do not show on the latest NAV4 devices
If you Load and then Save the POI file to/from the online POI editor...

As far as I'm aware it changes/updates the POI file header

Also, try loading the file into Softops POI editor... If it's an iffy file it usually won't load

Download SoftTop Tomtom POI Editor to a folder on your desktop; open the folder and un-zip the file.

No, I just exported with TomTomHome and then imported with MyDrive. I didn't change the ov2 neither I used any other SW or WebPage to change it.

Yes, I'm logged in with my account in the GoPremium.

I just followed the instructions. Export and then import.

Maybe that's the issue, my TomTom Go was/is too old? is there a way to let the ov2 file be compatible with the GoPremium?
*UPDATE* ok, sorry, I re-read your message. You already indicated what to do! Thx! :)

As a matter of fact, I accepted the offer to upgrade my TomTom and bought the Go Premium. Now, I was happy with the old one, just that TomTom didn't offer any map-update, that's why I accepted the offer :/ now I've in the car both devices, I let the old one drive me to the target and then save manually the target to the new device... annoying, most of all because I don't know which target is already in the new device and I have to do all twice: 1st in the Go Premium check if the favorite is already there, if not: switch on the old Go, set the target and drive, but because the map is not updated on the old device, it's sometime quite dangerous or confusing. Once arrived, save the position into the Go Premium.

*SOLVED* Thank you very much @YamFazMan !!!

I went to http://www.poieditor.com/, loaded my favorites.ov2 file (which I previously exported with TomTomHome from my old device), saved to tomtomgo.ov2, imported tomtomgo.ov2 into mydrive on the pc.
As soon as my Go Premium was switched on (and connected to my WiFi and my account) it imported the ov2 file!!!!!! finally!!! :):3

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

Have you uploaded the Poi Files to this Webside (MyDrive)
    https://mydrive.tomtom.com/de_de/
    i2qv6k2lspzo.jpg
When yor device then sync with MyDrive again the Pois will appear in your device unter "My Places / Meine Orte"

I saw in your profile that you are from Germany, so you could also post in the Deitschen Forum section if it is easier for you.

yes, I see the favoriter.ov2 when I log with my PC. However they do not appear in the Go Premium.

Other updates are regularly and correctly uploaded automatically by the Go Premium as soon as it is linked to my WiFi.

Just the favorites are simply not loaded on the device.

(I'm Italian, living in Germany since 25 years and working for an Indian company... any language is good if it solves the issue ;)
