PLease can anyone help me unlock my device that has this padlock saying product requires activation code.It was originally purchased in USA and I bought it on Ebay in the UK.It was working ok until a Tom tom representative told me to reset it due to it being linked to a different email address. So I did and so removing the original profile and details .Turned it off and back on again and that message with the padlock came on.It is now locked without the code.Tried getmycode but says I bought it from an unauthorised retailer so could not give me the activation code.Don't even know the product code cos I am not the original buyer and cannot get hold of him.Is there any way of bypassing this activation code?

Have you been getting an update from a scamming site by accident?
There are a number of threads about unofficial sites that are costing users by blocking their device.
Here is one possibility

Might this have been purchased at Walmart? Some of their electronic devices need to be unlocked. There should be an unlock code on your receipt or you can go to the web address shown and follow instructions. Once you complete the simple form an unlock code (activation code) will be shown.0

Hi @Dazbo
From the look of the screen, it seems the firmware(NavKit) on the device has been hacked.
I think the website and the number provided is a just a way to earn smart money using unethical ways. I would strictly recommend that you don't visit the website or call the number on the screen.
Could you send me the serial number of the device through a private message, please?
