I need to update my TomTom GPS VIA 1515TM (Smart 25) I plug it into my laptop, the "My Drive Connect" app opens, it shows that my GPS is connected. I select the option to update my map, the system starts the update, then I get a notice "Please Connect Your Device."

I have tried troubleshooting every which way I can & nothing works.

Have you tried connecting the device using a different USB cable and also on an alternative USB port. Loose contacts can be tricky.
Additionally I would also suggest that you check the configuration on your computer firewall and AV software.
