What would cause BLUE SCREEN and no maps on my Go 50?

Yesterday, my TomTom stopped working in route from office to home.
I switched it back on, but only a blank, blue screen appeared.
The same was true when I had gotten home and restarted the unit a few times.
Today I connected to MyDrive Connect, updated the maps (CA & US).
Still, the map screen is blank.

Hi
@Tom251
Have you tried a Soft/Drum roll restart on the device ??? This restarts the devices Operating System afresh
RESETTING YOUR NAVIGATION DEVICE
https://uk.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6965//session/L2F2LzEvdGltZS8xNDI2NjM0NDUyL3NpZC9EQTdTVHpobQ
Charge the device for at least 2Hrs "OR" have the device plugged into a power supply
Press and hold the on/off button until you hear a drum-roll sound then release the on/off button.
You won’t lose anything; it’s just like rebooting your PC
I use a Soft/drum-roll start after any upgrade large or small.
It’s also useful to keep in mind for sorting out most minor niggles....

Thank you YamFazMan. I'll try the soft drum roll both literally and figuratively.
Stay tuned0 -

It was a no-go for me - BTW, no saved data was in My Trips, Recents, Favorites, etc., so I did a Factory Reset, downloaded maps and moved on. I know how to type in the same destinations I'd previously saved. Alas...
This experience has been inconvenient, but not anything that would have me toss it out the window.
HOWEVER... had this happened mid-vacation into UnknownLand, probably my TomTom would be in a landfill, and hello Garmin, Ways....something else.0
