The app even tells me it can up load , watch can I do , the watch connects no problem . k01zg35uca59.png

I am having exactly the same problem for the past 2 days. The watch uploaded / synced activites with my iPhone without any problems on Sunday but for the past two days I get the same error - and I have also tried disconnecting and reconnecting the watch to no avail.

You should reset the connection following these steps. You first need to remove the watch from the phone's BT menu (in iOS you have it forget the device) after you reset or try pairing again. The steps are: uninstall the app, remove or forget the watch from the phone's BT menu, reinstall the app, select Pair New on the app, select Pair New on watch (press down from the clock and select Phone>Pair New, not Sync) and follow the prompts on the phone. You should not be pairing the watch first through the phone's BT menu; it is all done through the app and you must have the phone forget the watch in the BT menu before re-pairing.

If that does not work you may need to incorporate a factory reset in. You first need to remove the watch from the phone's BT menu (in iOS you have it forget the device) after you reset or try pairing again and remove the TomTom_MySports folder from the internal storage of the watch (plug it into a computer and you will see it as a hard drive and can delete it there). The steps are: uninstall the app, remove or forget the watch from the phone's BT menu, factory reset the watch, reinstall the app, select Pair New on the app, select Pair New on watch (press down from the clock and select Phone>Pair New, not Sync) and follow the prompts on the phone. You should not be pairing the watch first through the phone's BT menu; it is all done through the app and you must have the phone forget the watch in the BT menu before re-pairing.

To reset the connection does not change anything. I have actually tried that several times according to the above instructions. Making a factory reset will make me loose all the activities in the watch - something that I ideally would like to avoid if possible?

You will only lose unsynced activities. Everything else is just historical summary data for the last 10 activities of each type, all the details are removed when you sync. You can simply sync by computer instead of app, which is much faster and more reliable. Otherwise, a factory rest is your only other option
