I have a via 52 and I get a all x on updates,why?

Why am I getting this and I have just purchased this item.
I would like to know how i find out how old this tomtom is cannot find a way to speak too an agent

ESxxxxxxxxxx can anyone advise me please

    Here is the UK Customer Support number. Don't answer the questions but wait for an agent to answer.
