After downloading, my GO 6000 typically takes nearly an hour for a full map update of Europe.
Any experience of how long it takes with the newest Go 6000 premium?
How does this compare to the competition?
The NAV5 (Wi-Fi) devices like you’re Go 6200

Thanks for the replies but they don't answer my question.
I'm trying to decide whether to buy the latest GO 6000.
The issue I have with my current GO 6000 is that the overall time to update a full map of Europe is around 90-100 mins (download is about 40 min while update is 50-60 mins). I see claims that the competitive devices are much faster , so are TOMTOM willing to provide some realistic timings for full map updates?
(i have 60+ Mbps fibre, USB3 and wifi (55Mbp+)
Maybe usefull... A simple calculator with which you can calculate download time for a file depending on download speed.
How long time it will take depends on file size, your own download speed and the server's upload speed.
In these calculations it is assumed that your download speed is the bottleneck.

This will help to prevent a Log-Jam effect on the Tomtom Servers if something go wrong with one of the updates... The Server only has to wait for one update file to Time-Out
I've never seen a Wi-F1 speed above 72 Mbps displayed on my Go 6200 or GO Premium....
I guess that's the Max Download speed of the NAV5 (Wi-Fi) devices ???
I'm using a Win10 PC hard-wired to the Router....
Virgin Media Broadband 110 Mb/s
I updated the Full Europe map v1040 size 9 GB
Obviously for me, updating the GO 6200 over USB with MyDrive connect running in the background is the Faster option.... (Option (2) ... In my post above) NAV5 (Wi-Fi) Devices update on the fly i.e... No Download/Upload/Install
I'm happy with an 9 GB Map update in 23Mins 24secs (Stopwatch)
Answers
The latest map of Europe is v10.40, which is around 9 GB and depending on your internet speed the download time could differ.
Updates on the GO PREMIUM can be done over the WiFi but if you have a fast LAN connection then you can also use MyDrive Connect as an alternative.
See this FAQ
Scroll down and see the last section under- USING MYDRIVE CONNECT AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO A WI-FI® CONNECTION
