I jusy bought new Rider. It initially connects with iphone when first switched on, but it doesnt stay connected. It does say though on the Rider that it Is Connected. It shows in setting on the phone that it is connected, but when you go to the b;luetooth part of the Rider, it says unable to connect for traffic and continually says 'connecting' for smartphone, and who's calling. When opening up the mydrive app, this also initially connects but then disconnects and cant be reconnected. Is this a known error??

Tips from TomTom: https://uk.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/26781
Most stable solution at this moment to get Traffic Info is using a WiFi Hotspot on your iPhone.
To enable this;
- Remove BT connection with Rider on iPhone and Rider.
- Remove MyDrive App on Phone.
- Create WiFi Hotspot on iPhone.
- Connect Rider with WiFi Hotspot.
- Remember not to Update your Rider using the WiFi Hotspot. (This can use many Gb's over 4G)
- Text messages , caller id and Siri will not work using this solution.
If you prefer BT over WiFi you have to wait for a fix from Apple or TomTom.
(or downgrade your iPhone to iOS 12)
Not impressed with my purchase so far.
For stable functionality over BT with iOS you have te wait for Apple or TomTom to fix Apples mistake.
Thanks a lot for your response. Have to wait for fixes. Fingers crossed they don’t take too long.
As I have already written in this post:
https://discussions.tomtom.com/en/discussion/1120585/why-wont-the-new-tomtom-rider-stay-cnnected-on-bluetooth-with-iphone#latest
the only way for now to be able to use Tom Tom Trafic, is not to connect it to the MYDRYVE APP.
I have tried many times to turn TOM TOM off and on again having turned on my Iphone 7 bluetooth and Hotspot / Tethering and it has always connected showing the traffic situation where I live.
But when I tried to connect (between Iphone and TomTom) my Drive, everything stopped working.
I turned everything off, deleted the account on MyDrive and reconnected Iphone and TomTom through Bluetooth and Hotspot / Tethering and they connected.
Unfortunately, it is only a temporary solution and we hope that the developers of the APP will solve the problem.
I will try to write to support again to find out if they have found solutions.
P.S. Sorry my english but i'm using a translator.
