@VikramK : While trying your suggestion, I just noticed I have to do this:
BTW, on my (German) phone the app is still called "Blitzer", not AmiGo, although I installed AmiGo from Playstore)
In Android (roughly translated into English): Settings – Apps and Notifications – Blitzer – Extended – Overlay other apps (enable)
So it seems AmiGo fails to set this property while it installs.5

There are some phone models where we have seen reports about the overlay mode not working.
Could you check if battery saving mode is turned off, for both the app and the phone as a whole?
