I have an order number and an Invoice number on a confirming email but no order on MY ACCOUNT

On Dec 9 I received an email acknowledgement of my order with an invoice number, an order number and my payment account has been charged but the order does not appear in the MY ORDER section of the tom tom site. How do I find out where my device is.

I would recommend that you contact the customer service with the invoice number and the email address used to place the order, they should be able to help you with it.
