TT Rider model versions history
I can't go to the recent 500/550 as they will not work with my current fitted intercom system and I am not prepared to change all that out too, so I want the latest of the earlier version (if that makes sense)

The Rider 40 is almost the same hardware as the Rider 400, less memory 8GB and smaller map area, no lifetime speed cameras.
The 4x0 series is much slower than the Rider 5x0 series.
The Rider 50 har the same hardware as the Rider 550 smaller map area, no lifetime speed cameras.
Personally I use a BT audio to FM transmitter to listen to the navigation instructions on my headset using the radio. This way the intercom function is more stable.
If your headset has radio or aux in you can use a similar setup and a Rider 550.7 -

@Gettingfedupnow
As far a I'm aware the previous Rider devices were all NAV2 devices....
The Rider 40 & Rider 4xx Models are NAV4 devices
The Rider 50 & Rider 5xx Models are NAV5 (Wi-Fi) devices
I'm not aware of a NAV3 Rider device...
The NAV3 devices only had VERY limited Itinerary route planning....

the previous rider before the 40/400
that would do 48 points, have stops along the way,
bluetooth transfer removed from the 50/500 for importing "travel plans" is a huge deal breaker for me. unless there is a wireless option, for transfer. wifi direct or something.
