I was updating the start 20 maps and suddenly the screen went black and after that, the system does not start up. It comes up with the tomtom screen, drum roffle and after that it keeps rebooting but does n ot start up further. I also rebooted the system by holding the on/off button for a long time till i got a dos screen, with the system information, but this also does not help.
Does anyone has a clue how to solve this problem?

Hi @jacq01
Your situation is not easy. Some thoughts to try to help you:
1/ Charge the battery of your device for at least 2 hours with a 2A main charger ( style smartphone/tablet/Iphone). Recovery Mode or map installation requires a full battery.
This may be the reason for the loop reboot.
2/ Your device Not connected to the PC:
Login in MyDrive Connect with email password (next the gearwheel)
Check if MyDrive Connect is correctly set. (see picture)
Empty the download folder then "Save Settings".
3/ Connected your device to the PC and MDC (login email+password)
Hoping that your device is recognized and connected, "green tick" next to the device name.
Delete the corrupted map it blocks downloads. Your device will display a "No Map" message.
==> Open the submenu of the map, in "My content" go down in "My Maps", click on the map picture, not on the button and choose "Uninstall".
4/Download and install the EU map (4502MB)
==> Open the submenu of the map, in "My content" go down in "My Maps", click on the map picture, not on the button and choose "Install".
if you have a problem of available space (internal memory only 4GB) installed a smaller map zone MDC should offer it.
Now with an installed map maybe you do not need to do the Recovery Mode. But the Recovery Mode can only work if the device already contains an activated map otherwise it fails.
If nothing works contact customer service for more help.

I tried the revovery mode and it went all through it, but after the recovery mode was finished and the tomtom restarted, it came up with the same as it was before the recovery mode. So there is nothing changed. Still the same problem.0
