Smart media connect wont recognize SD card

Hi. As above when I plug my sd card into the computer it is recognised but no files are present and when connecting to smart media connect the system doesn't recognise that the sd card is present so I have no maps and no way of getting past the the add device screen. HELP

    Welcome to the community!

    Any chance that the card may have been formatted by mistake.

    There have to be some files present on the card which will enable MyDrive Connect to recognize it as a device.

    What does the storage memory for the card say?

    Yes it is a very real possibility. Some of the steps after it stopped working was to try formatting it

    Is there any way to reinstate the sd card?

    Hi @Daviek1985

    Re-initialisation of memory cards does not apply for the Smart Media Built in devices.

    It's not recommended to format the memory card which came with the device. At this point I would advise that you get in touch with the car dealer to sort this out.

    Hi, I had the same problem. In the replies I saw that SD card should not be formatted. Well This really upset me to put it mildly.
    Ths is my story. I purchased a maps and cameras upgrade, which were downloaded without any problems. But when I tried to transfer info to SD card, I got a message saying that there was not enough memory and when I removed it and put it in the car it said no maps found! I called TOM TOM for help and the guy on the end told me to format the card!!! I did and now it is not recognised. How's that for service??? I made a purchase which I cannot use, in fact I am worse of, becasue at least I previously had outdated maps, now I have nothing..... Can anyone pleases help???
