SuperuserHi @torska
My Places are positions on the map you have selected and saved as a My Place.
My routes are routes that you have created and save for use frequently or later.
If you want to create a route on your device that you want to follow which goes via a number of Waypoints then do the following.
Assuming you want to start where you are then go through the usual process of Searching for and selecting a destination and when you have finished press Drive or Lets Go. Now you can add Waypoints
You can go into Search and identify somewhere exactly as you did for the Destination. Once you have selected it and it appears as a position on the Map it will have a menu with Drive at the end. Next to Drive are 3 vertical dots which if you press gives you another menu with the option to Add to the Current Route. If you select that then the Original route will now have a waypoint.
Alternatively you can go into your My Places and select one of your saved positions and again when it appears on the screen map with the Menu Tap the 3 vertical Dots and select Add to Current Route.
You can also identify a Place on the devices map and then you press on the screen for a second or so and the Position will then have a marker with the menu you can tap the 3 dots or if the Menu does not display then Tap the marker and the menu will appear. In this case you should try to ensure you put the marker on the right side of the road to help the routing to approach and leave the position in the right direction.
If you want to start the route from some position other than where you are then do the same search as you would do for a destination except when you have found the position and selected it and it appears on the map with Drive again Tap the 3 vertical dots and select Use as a Starting Place.. Then if you search for the final destination and select Drive it will create a route from your Chosen Starting Place to the final destination.
Once you create a route on the device you can Tap Menu (4 Dots) and then Tap Current Route where you can select save to my Routes. As you have created the route on the device it will be saved as an .ITN route which will take note of Traffic but will religiously pass through the Waypoints in order.
