GO Essential and MyDrive App on Android phone

I've just bought the go essential but I can't connect the my drive app. I have a huawei y6 2019. It installs the app but when it says to scan code, it just won't scan. I've tried numerous times over the last 24hrs but it just won't scan. Help!!
