TomTom Routing - Set preferred highway

Tomtom regularly sends me off the highway to train me further (after a section of B roads).
That would probably be a bit faster / shorter but more tiring!
Can the tomtom be set so that it no longer does this?

Could you do a factory reset and try testing the device on a other routes?

Factory reset- Main menu- Settings- System- Reset device.
