Are you sure that the battery is not an issue? Could you try charing the device for more than 2 hours and test it?
If the button is faulty then I guess the customer service can help you with booking a repair.

Maybe lucky, search Ebay for a GO 610 or equivalent Model that's scrapped for spares parts....
