Hi there
After I updated my GO 5200 wifi yesterday the data voices diasappeared. How can I get them back? I googled myself into insanity, but could not fin any answer...
I'm Norwegian btw. And need Norwegian data voices.
Also, my device do not communicate with MyDrive Connect. I'm using Firefox. Could that be a problem?

Hi @Inner
You do not need My Drive connect with a GO5200 unless you have poor or no Wifi.
If you start MyDrive Connect on your PC and then connect the GO5200 it will give you a screen suggesting updating using Wifi. You then ignore the PC and use the menu options on the GO5200 to update etc as it is only using the PC as an Internet source. You could run MyDrive in the background whilst the PC is connected and browse the internet on it whilst your GO5200 uses the Internet connection.

Hi Doug
It's the Norwegian 'Nora' data voice I want. (Hope I remember correct...)
Regarding My Drive Connect I've tried your suggestion several times.
Thanks for quickly responding!

Well, after some resets etc, Nora (Norwegian data voice) is back. Don't know how. Maybe she's a cheater?
Anyway: MyDrive Connect does not find my GO 5200 wifi. I just read from a tomtom page that they had problems with MyDrive Connect. So, have to try another day.
Have a nice weekend0 -

Hi Doug
I have a good wifi. And reading more about the MyDrive Connect point to what you say. I do not need it. Previously I used totom home on another device, which included more stuff that now is within the new nav devices itself.
Thanks

Hi @Inner
You're welcome. You should look at the My Drive website where if you log in you will ba able to carry out a number of activities. When you create Favourites,ie My Places they are saved in your account and you can see them in My Drive. You also can use it to add POI and Route files if you want and if you create routes on the Website and send them to your GO5200 or save the routes and then sync them to your unit.

Hi Doug
Thanks again. I was not aware of those opportunities in MyDrive as I've not yet managed to connect my GO 5200 to MyDrive. I'm going on a roadtrip in aug/sept, and hope that MyDrive is up and going well before that time, and benefit from some of the tips and tricks shown in the videos.
Have a nice weekend!

Hi @Inner
When you set the GO5200 did you input your Tomtom account. That is the account you need to log into on the My Drive website.

Hi Doug
I was not aware of the https://mydrive.tomtom.com.
I've tried to get my GO 5200 to communicate with MyDrive Connect, with no luck.
Tried out https://mydrive.tomtom.com last night, and it worked really well.
I'm only familiar with tomtom home, that does not work with GO 5200.
However, all my 'problems/worries' are solved with https://mydrive.tomtom.com.
So, thumbs up for your advice! Well, you're a superuser, and seem to take the gold or silver medal within this forum so I'm not surprised that you know nearly everything about tomtom devices
Now - out testing things that I've learned.
Have a nice day!

Hi @Inner
Your welcome. If you ever have to do a Factory Reset on your device which will delete all your data including any Favourites, Poi and Routes files when your unit reconnects to the account it restores the deleted data as it is stored in your Account. This works even if you are away from your wifi as the inbuilt mobile sim connects the unit to the account and downloads the data albeit slower than if you were attached to your Wifi.
Regarding My Drive you can also get it as a App for your Phone which means you can send or save and sync routes to your device from your phone. The App does not handle POI files or Mapcodes.
Finally you could look at the Mapcode App for your phone. Here you can search for addresses and get an Address for a Position, a Mapcode and Long/Lat. You can input the Mapcode into your Device or cut and Paste the Long/Lat into the MyDrive app and then send the route to the device. You can use a Hybrid map in the Mapcode app which is like Google Earth and so you can find a Mapcode for a precise point. If I were to Type NOR R9.VL£ in Search on my unit it will take me to the car park at Losby Golf and Country Club. The codes can nearly specify a parking slot in a car park and it works world wide and if you are in Norway you do not need to include the NOR..
