Device broken after Software Update in TomTom HOME

Hi, I updated my TomTom Start² in TomTom HOME version 2.11.6.125 and after the update it said my map is not valid anymore. I have read the manual from https://de.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/23975/locale/de_DE/track/BvOYdQooDv8a~Z6IGmmC~yoKb0IqWi75Mv~E~zj~PP8N

The manual told me to first delete the old map from the device AND from the computer via HOME App.

After I did the tomtom HOME app does not show any maps for download.

3 Questions:
1. Why does the software update break the map?
2. Why cant I download a valid map?
3. what else can be done with the device, I know it might be "obsolete" because I got the popup that told me to buy a new device, after my device has been messed up with the update (...)
4. Can the tomtom be repurposed as a tamagotchi or something? because right now its pretty much useless without the map.

Thanks!

    Hi @JunkDeviceUser

You will have to wait until Monday to see if @VikramK or @lampard can sort you out with a map. Keep an eye out for their response.

    Hi JunkDeviceUser

Thanks for the sending the serial number.

A map has been reactivated for your device.

Just remove the existing map first and then download a fresh version using TomTom HOME.

    Regards
    Vikram

Thanks, I was able to download one map and it is working again fine. Why were the maps for the device disabled in the first place? Cheers.
