I have a TomTom Start 25 and was wondering if it will work in France?

Cannot find anywhere to change map preference and was wondering if the Start 25 does it automatically?

    Hi @Mikepapaburke

If you have the European map on your unit then it should work just as it does in the UK.

    Hi @Mikepapaburke

If you have an up to date camera subscription and get the updates then you will not have cameras for France. The cameras update provides cameras positions except in France where the data on your unit danger zones in France. This means that you will be advised of what are considered danger points. needless to say that some of these will have cameras near them because they are considered dangerous places however not all will have cameras. This data for France has been included in the Cameras update but has been changed to danger zones to comply with the French Rules. .

No need to disable the speed camera function as the French database is compatible with French law and only gives a randomized distance from the start of a danger zone that may or may not actually contain a speed camera, (many have been vandalized during the "yellow jacket" protests :( ) But the replacements will flash you and the fine sent to the address that the vehicle is registered to if it detects
    • Excess speed
    • Driving too close
    • Using a mobile phone
    • Not wearing a seat belt
    So be aware

Thanks, I found out how to check my info and I have the Western Europe maps so fingers crossed all goes well next year when driving in France. Just need to figure out now about the speed camera restrictions - hopefully disabling the speed camera function will work.
