Why does Tom Tom connect have message sync successfull, but it hasn't

I have just bought a secondhand Blue & Me Tom Tom 2 Live and set up a new email account for it in Tom Tom connect. How can I get Tom Tom connect to sync to my new device? Can you delete all other email addresses that I've used with a previous Tom Tom Sat nav device please?
