I received a TomTom email that my XL340 needed to be updated. Then, via TomTom HOME, I was told the device doesn't have sufficient resources for current maps and software. The note went on to say how this would affect the (long list of) device(s), but clearly stating that devices with lifetime maps are not affected; and, I purchased the XL340 w/lifetime maps. So, confused, but no update forthcoming. The info went on to offer a couple choices for a new device, but at quite meager discounts. Has anyone found a remedy short of purchasing a new device, or abandoning TomTom for, say, Google? Thanks for your feedback!
